About VOIR Lumière

What is clear gloss PPF?

Clear gloss PPF is a transparent, self-healing urethane film applied over your factory paint. Often called a clear bra, it forms an invisible barrier against rock chips, road debris, bug acids, and UV fade. Unlike a ceramic coating, which mainly guards against chemicals and water spots, Lumière adds 8.5 mil of true physical thickness that stops impacts before they reach your paint.

Why VOIR Lumière

Lumière is the clearest clear gloss PPF on the market, engineered for zero orange peel and true optical transparency, and one of the most installer-friendly films available. Upkeep is nothing more than simple soap and water, with no special chemicals or coatings required.

  • Clearest optical clarity on the market, with a deeper, wetter gloss
  • 8.5 mil impact protection against rock chips and road debris
  • Installer-friendly tack and stretch for clean, fast installs
  • Simple soap-and-water maintenance, no special products needed
  • Self-healing top coat that removes swirls with heat
  • Ceramic-infused, hydrophobic, stain-resistant surface
  • Non-yellowing UV stability

Built for

Exotic, luxury, and high-performance vehicles, and any owner who treats their car as an investment. Ideal for full-front protection, full-body wraps, and high-wear zones like hoods, fenders, mirrors, and rockers.

Clear PPF vs. vinyl vs. ceramic coating

A ceramic coating enhances gloss and chemical resistance but offers no meaningful impact protection. A vinyl wrap changes color but is thin and not built to absorb chips. Clear gloss PPF is the only option that physically protects the original paint while improving its look, and unlike vinyl it self-heals and carries a true protective warranty. For owners who want to preserve factory paint and resale value, Lumière is the definitive layer.

Care and maintenance

Lumière is low maintenance by design, with no special coatings, sealants, or chemicals to buy. Wait about a week after installation to let the adhesive fully cure, then simply hand wash with soap and water and a soft mitt. Skip abrasive polishes and automatic brush washes. Light swirls self-heal in the sun or with gentle heat, and the hydrophobic top coat keeps water spotting and grime to a minimum.

Storage & Handling

Auto paint protection film (PPF) rolls should be stored upright in a clean, dry environment away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures to preserve adhesive quality. Keep rolls in their original packaging until use to protect against dust, moisture, and surface damage. For best results, maintain storage temperatures between 60 to 77°F (15 to 25°C) and avoid bending or creasing the film.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does VOIR paint protection film last?

VOIR film is backed by a 10 year limited warranty from the date of professional installation. Real world life depends on climate, driving conditions, and care, but properly maintained VOIR PPF is built to protect for the full warranty period. Warranty must be registered and approved through the VOIR website.

Does color and matte PPF self-heal?

Yes. Every VOIR series, including Atelier color PPF and Spectre matte PPF, uses a self-healing topcoat. Light swirl marks and fine scratches disappear with heat from the sun, warm water, or a heat gun.

What is the difference between paint protection film and a vinyl wrap?

Paint protection film is a thicker urethane film engineered to absorb impact from rock chips and road debris, and it self-heals. Vinyl wrap is a thinner material made mainly to change appearance and offers little impact protection. VOIR Atelier gives you a color change and true protection in one layer.

Can PPF be removed without damaging the paint?

Yes. When installed and removed by a trained professional, paint protection film comes off without harming factory paint. That is one of the main reasons owners choose PPF over a repaint.

What is a clear bra?

Clear bra is the common name for clear paint protection film. The term comes from early installs that covered only the front bumper. Today coverage ranges from a partial front end to full body. VOIR Lumiere is our clear gloss option.

How much of my car should I protect?

Full front coverage of the bumper, hood, fenders, and mirrors is the most popular choice because those panels take the most road damage. Full body coverage protects every painted panel. Your installer can recommend the right package for how you drive.

What installers are saying

Real feedback from the professionals installing VOIR film.

Funny how I said I am not gonna buy another brand of PPF. And now here I am, buying many every week.

The panel tack is boggling our minds. Clean install, no lines, easily re-positionable but with a good bite on the surface. We are locked in.

Films 10/10. The panels I installed went down so nice, definitely some good adhesive on it.
